Medieval harness boss circa 16th - 16th century. A circular bronze bridle boss comprising of a flat plate with a highly domed centre. There are four bronze rivets for attachment to the iron backplate, three around the periphery and one through the centre of the dome, each has a head in the form of a flower. The backplate has two rectangular loops for attachment. Recovered from a river hence the excellent state of preservation. 45mm diameter x 25mm, 26.7g.
